Gravel: the foundational element of not only landscaping but making your space your own. Since time immemorial, man has sculpted the earth with stone, manipulating landscapes to perfection, and creating for himself a home defined by depth, color, and texture. While the atom is the basic unit upon which mass in the universe is built, the stone is the atom of your home landscape. Alone, a single stone can only accomplish so much, but when united with thousands of stones like it, the sky is the limit.

Whether you’re looking to use traditional crushed rock gravel to build or revamp your driveway, pea gravel to line your garden beds or create a patio for you and your family, or river rock to adorn a pond or rebuff a drainage system, JK Enterprise Landscape Supply can be your one-stop-shop. We have the will, knowledge, and resolve to solve the toughest problems and provide you with the highest possible level of service. Our experience extends far beyond gravel alone, so we promise a holistic approach when dealing with any landscaping project. We are here to support you.

Using stone and its aggregates is one of the most efficient, aesthetically pleasing, and cost-effective methods of landscape modification. There is no one surefire method to complete any gravel-based project and not one type of gravel leading the pack. Working with gravel is an art, and you are the artist, but no matter the type of gravel you choose to use for your project there will be an element of science. The science we’re talking about here at JK Enterprise Landscape Supply is the science of measurement. We believe in the old builder’s proverb of “measure twice, cut once”. While there’s no cutting involved here, the principle remains the same. You always want the right tools for the job, and in the case of gravel, you want the right amount.

The Material Calculator: Getting Down to Brass Tacks

Once you’ve decided on what type of gravel from our vast array of options you’d like to use for your project, it’s time to take out the tape measure. Measure the length, width, and depth of the area you’d like to fill with gravel, and then input those numbers into the handy gravel calculator found on each of the checkout pages for our gravel products. Our calculator will tell you exactly how much gravel you’ll need to complete your project, and will give you the option to purchase in bulk or by the bag. If you are in the DC Metro area, including most of Northern Virginia, and some parts of Maryland, we can deliver your gravel right to your door.

No matter what kind of project you’re doing, or what kind of gravel you need, we’ve got you covered. At JK Enterprise Landscape Supply, we carry 17 different varieties of stone and stone aggregate to fulfill any and all of your landscaping needs.

Conventional Gravels

Our most basic stone products are Grey Stone ¾” and 21A Crush & Run. When you think of gravel, you’re probably thinking of these handy products. Crush & run gravel is great for drainage, so it’s commonly used in walkways, as a surface on which to place paver stones, and as backfill. You’ll even find it underpinning pieces of industrial infrastructure like highways and parking lots. Grey stone on the other hand is what you’ll find on most of America’s driveways and home parking areas. Its simple, understated look, has been a family favorite for generations. Make sure to measure the dimensions of the area you intend to lay your gravel in, enter it in our material calculator on the checkout page, and determine how much material you’ll need.

Red Gravel

Red gravel (sometimes called red granite) is the more aesthetically inclined cousin of conventional grey gravel. Our red gravel products like #8 Red Stone fulfill many of the same needs that are filled by grey stone, but with a colorful twist. It can make your driveway or parking area truly pop, and highlights your property in a way that conventional gravel and stone aggregates can’t. Red Rock ¾” is decorative gravel, great for mulching flower beds, highlighting the borders of your home, covering ground wherever you want to, and adorning fountains. Find exactly how much of it you’ll need using the material calculator on our checkout page.

Pea Gravel and River Stone

If you’re looking for colorful gravel, but a single color is too monochromatic for you, why don’t you try pea gravel and river stones? Pea gravel is one of the most beautiful types of landscaping stone, as well as one of the most versatile. These stones are more smooth and round than others, and one bag can include stones of thousands of different colors. Pea gravels like Pea Gravel ⅜” and Pea Gravel ¼”-½” are excellent choices for highly trafficked areas on your property like walkways, patios, and playgrounds. Pea gravel can also be used for underground projects aimed at promoting drainage and insulating pipes. Local river stones like MD River Jack, Delaware River Jack, and Washed River Stone have a similar look to pea gravels but are best suited for flower beds, ponds, and pathways. Use the material calculator that you’ll find on the checkout page to find how much you’ll need.
